The ITA is exploring new avenues to improve doping detection. A study is underway on using cyclists’ power data as a complementary tool. Tested with five teams, this approach could support traditional methods, though some remain skeptical about its effectiveness.
The CPA advocates for reducing the number of tests while enhancing their precision. This strategy would allow for more effective targeting of cheaters while minimizing disruptions for riders. Debates over the balance between effectiveness and athlete well-being are far from over.
